Christina Applegate Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Christina Applegate has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actress, who was diagnosed with MS in 2021, attended a ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday, November 14 where her accolade was unveiled just days before the third and final season of “Dead to Me” premieres on Netflix.

  1. Christina Applegate was due her own star on the Walk of Fame. With a career spanning more than 35 years, she’s well-known for her role as Kelly Bundy in “Married… With Children,” as well as Veronica Corningstone in “Anchorman,” Jen Harding in “Dead To Me,” among many others. It was only right that she was honored in such a permanent way.
  2. She used the ceremony as a way to thank those who have stood by her side. Former “Married… With Children” co-stars David Faustino and Katey Sagal attended the ceremony with Applegate. Her “Dead To Me” co-star Linda Cardellini and creator Liz Feldman were also present. “This day means more to me than you can possibly imagine. I don’t say that I have friends. I have family,” Applegate said, per ABC. “These people take care of me. They take care of me every day of my life and without them I don’t know what I would do.”
  3. Sagal praised Applegate for her kindness and humility despite becoming so famous. TooFab reports Sagal as saying: “I’ve seen you, the high highs of love and enormous success coupled with extreme challenges, but you came in with those shoulders and you bear the weight and you bend and you don’t break. And your humility and irreverence allows all of us to bend with you.”
  4. Cardellini was also emotional when praising her colleague. Speaking at the star unveiling ceremony, Cardellini said Christina Applegate was well-deserving of her place on the Walk of Fame. “She is one of the greats,” she said. “She is also a champion for anyone she loves. At some of my weakest moments she has hugged me, looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I’ve got you, we’ve got this.’ And you believe her, because she is exactly the person you want in your corner. A fiercely loyal, honest, generous friend and person.”
  5. Applegate herself was overjoyed at the honor. She took to Twitter in the hours following the ceremony. “It happened. Thank you everyone. Hollywood chamber of commerce. And ya know… everyone,” she tweeted alongside two photos from the day. Another post showed her standing barefoot on her star and was captioned: “Barefoot. For some with MS the feeling of shoes may hurt or make us feel off balance. So today I was me. Barefoot.”
