Woman Makes Christmas Light Roof Display That’s Rather Suggestive…

A Kansas woman with an amazing sense of humor has decided to put a rather different twist on her Christmas decorations this year, creating a rather suggestive light display on her roof – and not all of her neighbors are happy about it.

  1. Shelby Gash is going to be on Santa’s naughty list. The 24-year-old Lenexa resident shared the photos of her creative display on Facebook, captioning them, “Sorry neighbors … I felt the need to make a giant d–k on the roof! Tis the season!”
  2. Her neighbors aren’t really seeing the funny side. One neighbor, Marcelo Vergara, told local news affiliate WDAF that he wasn’t particularly impressed with Gash’s attempt at a joke. “Well, it looks like a p***s. A giant lit up p***s,” he said. “Well, it’s certainly a statement. I don’t know to what but probably not appropriate for the neighborhood.”
  3. Shelby’s not going to let negativity get her down. In fact, it’s the general lame vibe of the neighborhood that inspired her to get creative with the display in the first place. “The neighborhood’s kind of, like, vibe’s kind of gone down ’cause everyone’s kind of uptight. So it’s more of an orneriness.”
  4. There are plenty of people who do appreciate her effort. Shelby told WDAF that not everyone is totally square and conservative, and plenty have complimented her on her hilarious sense of humor. “People think it’s hilarious,” Shelby said. “People are stopping in the middle of the night taking photos and laughing. People think it’s so much fun. I think there’s a lot more laughter than it’s bringing out anything uncomfortable.”
  5. She did eventually remove the display. Shelby’s lights were up for four days before the complaints from neighbors, who claimed it wasn’t appropriate for the local kids, prompted her to take them down. While no one came to her directly, she was disheartened by all the neighborhood gossip, so she did relent, much to Marcelo’s relief. “I think that it’s probably not in the Christmas spirit,” he said. “Now, we got it. Let’s move on.”
