Christopher Meloni has been lust-worthy for more than two decades, with fans falling head over heels for him the minute he stepped on screen as Elliot Stabler in “Law & Order: SVU” back in 1999. Now that he’s back in the “Organized Crime” spinoff, one thing is clear: he’s a certified Zaddy. Turns out, that’s a title he loves.
- Wait, what’s a zaddy? Oxford Languages defines a zaddy as “a sexually attractive man, especially an older one who is fashionable or charismatic.” In other words, it’s a major compliment. And yes, the “zaddy” title definitely applies to Christopher Meloni, now 61. He even appeared butt-naked in a Peloton commercial a few months ago. Talk about hot!
- Meloni is flattered by the compliment. “It’s a gas. It’s fun. I don’t know, has anyone else been crowned Zaddy? Once it’s bestowed upon you, you have to just ride that horse as long as you can,” Christopher Meloni told PEOPLE of the title.
- His wife loves the attention he gets too. Meloni has been married to his wife, Sherman Williams, for 22 years and together, they have two kids. While his wife appreciates his role as zaddy, his 21-year-old daughter Sophia and 18-year-old son Dante aren’t really feeling it. “My kids, on the other hand, invariably once a month, it’s ‘Really? Really?'” he said. “Their friends will send them a meme that’s come out or whatever.” Meloni added, “It’s cool, because we all have a good goof with it. My children’s friends bust my chops, but it’s all fun. It’s an honor.”
- He’s in good company, really. Christopher Meloni isn’t the only Hollywood zaddy. He joins some other hot guys of a certain age including Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, and Rob Lowe, just to name a few. These men are showing to age like a fine wine and people are taking notice.
