Criminals’ Getaway Car Stolen While They Were Inside Robbing Business

The getaway car three suspects hoped to use to leave the scene of the crime after committing a robbery was stolen by another criminal. The bizarre incident went down in Commerce City, Colorado, on Saturday, December 16, 9 News reports.

The robbery happened at a check-cashing business.

Just before 11 a.m., Commerce City Police say three armed and masked people entered Hi Lo Check Cashing on Monaco Street and demanded money.

A getaway vehicle was waiting outside for the suspects to escape. However, when they exited the building, it wasn’t there anymore. That was when they realized a fourth criminal had stolen the car while they were committing the robbery.

Police have arrested two of the three robbers.

A spokesperson for the CCPD says that all three suspects are under the age of 18, and their identities have not been made public as a result. One suspect is still on the loose.

Authorities said that no one was hurt in the robbery. However, they gave no details regarding the suspect who stole the vehicle. However, they believe the car might already have been stolen.

The suspects are now facing serious charges.

While they’re all juveniles, a spokesperson for Commerce City Police added that the young criminals are likely going to face felony-level charges. Looks like crime doesn’t pay, after all. The search for the other robber as well as the person who stole the getaway vehicle is ongoing.
