Group Of Dads Tackle Pervert For Spying On Young Girl In Public Bathroom Spartanburg County Detention Center

A group of angry fathers tackled and pummeled a sex offender for spying on a young girl in a Cracker Barrel bathroom. Douglas Lane, 53, is said to have been peering under the stall door at a 15-year-old girl at the Charlotte, North Carolina restaurant on the morning of Sunday, September 20, according to Duncan police Chief Carl Long. The teen then told her parents and her dad sprung into action.

  1. The teen was at the restaurant with other girls. The victim and her family were there were several other families ahead of a softball tournament at the time of the incident. After the girl told her dad that she saw Lane’s head peeking under her stall door, her father and other dads got together to chase the man out of the restaurant.
  2. The dads were intent on seeing Lane face justice. In addition to getting him out of the Cracker Barrel, they also ensured he couldn’t leave and was still on the premesis when police arrived a short time later. According to a witness who spoke to WYFF4, the men were shouting “Get him, he’s getting away!”
  3. Lane was a bit worse for wear by the time he was arrested. A separate witness recalled seeing Lane “running out the door with a very bloody nose” before he was caught by the group of dads again. WSPA obtained surveillance footage which showed Lane sitting on the ground surrounded by parents prior to the arrival of police.
  4. A TikTok video showed more of the incident. In the short clip, someone can be heard shouting profanity at Lane while Lane protests “I didn’t do nothing!” The man then tells Lane, “Imma tell you, if that was my daughter, you wouldn’t walk away.”
  5. Lane was arrested and faced voyeurism and drug charges. Unsurprisingly, he’s already a registered sex offender and has incidents on his record dating back to 1996. A judge set at $2,000 cash surety bond, forced lane to wear a GPS monitor, and ordered him to move to South Carolina and never contact the victim or her family again. He’s due back in court on November 12.
