10 Daily Mantras To Carry With You Into 2021 And Beyond

I’m always so excited for the start of a new year because it makes me feel like we’re getting a clean slate. It’s a brand new chance to make this year the one that we achieve unthinkable goals and become exactly who we want to be. After the year we all had in 2020, we could definitely use a fresh start. Here are some mantras that you’ll definitely want to take with you this year so that you can own your life and dominate it.

  1. I have the power within me, I just have to harness it. You’re strong and capable of getting through everything that life throws at you. You don’t need to acquire any courage or power because it’s always been there inside of you. You just have to have the strength to pull it out and use it!
  2. I don’t have to be perfect, just the best version of myself. It’s hard not to get trapped in the neverending pursuit of perfection. We put so much pressure on ourselves to look and be a certain way because society has convinced us that once we achieve that perfect life, we’ll be the happiest people that we could be. Life isn’t perfect and neither are you. Instead of agonizing over your flaws, embrace and celebrate them! Flaws are what make us unique! Just work on being the best that you can be and putting effort into the parts of your life that matter to you. Perfection doesn’t equal happiness. Self-acceptance equals happiness.
  3. I will not settle for people who don’t value me. Life is far too short to waste time on people who don’t appreciate you and everything you bring to the table. Whether it’s in a romantic relationship, with your friends, or even at work, when people don’t see the value in you, you’re cheating yourself out of people who will. Have the strength to walk away from relationships that are no longer serving you so that you can find your people!
  4. What I want in life matters. It’s great to be a generous person who gives their time, energy, and resources to constantly help others. You have an enormous heart and everyone knows it. However, you need to make sure that your wants and needs aren’t getting lost in the shuffle of making everyone else around you happy. Your dreams count no matter what they are. If there’s something that you want to get out of this year, pursue it, girl! Make time for yourself and work on the parts of you that you want to change or improve. There is absolutely nothing selfish about self-care. It’s a total necessity!
  5. I will not let myself be taken for granted in love. If you’re single and wanting to get out there and date this year, go for it, just don’t forget your worth for a second. Romantic prospects will generally show you what type of person they are within the first few minutes of your first date. If you have a feeling, right off the bat, that they’re not it, don’t waste any more of your or their time. Only spend time with people who treat you well and with whom you have that undeniable connection. The rest just isn’t for you.
  6. I will let go of insecurities that are holding me back. 2021 is your year to break free of the insecurity and self-consciousness that keep you from living your best life. It’s scary to push yourself out of your comfort zone but trust me, once you finally do, you’ll feel freer than you ever have before. Most of the time, the things we feel insecure about are completely in our heads. Even if there are things about you that you’d like to change, the world doesn’t necessarily see those things if you don’t let them. Walk with confidence and that’s what you’ll exude!
  7. I will take a break when I need one. You’re a superhero the way you balance, work, family, and your relationship. You are a professional multi-tasker and you make everything look so easy! Be real though, girl, you must be tired. It’s great that you put so much of yourself into everything that you do, just don’t forget to recharge your batteries every once in a while. It’s completely and totally okay to just take a day where you do nothing but relax. Read a book, watch a movie, sleep all day if that’s what you want to do. You have to feel like yourself in order to keep giving in every area of your life and you won’t feel like yourself if you don’t take time to just be you. Set aside at least a few days every month that are all about you and don’t feel guilty about taking them! You deserve it!
  8. I will not let the world harden me. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of cruelty and unkindness in the world. We see people who treat each other terribly, especially amongst other women who tend to cut each other down in order to feel better about themselves. You know better, though. You know that women succeed so much more in this world when they are lifted up and encouraged by other women. You know what kind of person you are and what you have to offer the world and you don’t need to tear someone else down just because you see other people doing it. You’re going to be the woman who supports other women, who treats everyone with grace and kindness, and who doesn’t stay quiet when you see someone being bullied or degraded. We can build a better, more loving society, we just can’t be complacent about it.
  9. I will allow myself to be vulnerable but I will not let the sadness win. I’m sure we all felt vulnerable and depressed at some point during 2020. If there’s anything we’ve learned about sadness, it’s that it’s completely okay to feel it. It’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s okay to show weakness. It’s okay to ask for help. Those emotions are completely normal and no one should feel ashamed. What we can’t do though is let the sadness take over and steal everything else in our lives that make us happy. Let yourself feel things but don’t let them hold you back or keep you down. You are strong. You will overcome. You will be okay.
  10. I will always believe in myself even when I fail. Failure and setbacks are inevitable. Life is going to come around and kick us while we’re down and make us feel defeated. You can’t let the setbacks win, though. You have to be able to pick yourself up after you fall down and keep pursuing what you want. Nothing great in life comes easily and to be honest, why would you want it to? There is so much beauty and satifaction in knowing that you had to work your butt off to get somewhere in life and you have everything it takes to accomplish anything you set your mind to. Don’t let the world convince you otherwise.
