Daniel Radcliffe And Partner Erin Darke Welcome First Child

Daniel Radcliffe is officially a dad! The “Harry Potter” actor and his partner Erin Drake welcomed their first child earlier this month, Us Weekly reports, roughly a month after news broke that they were expecting.

“Daniel and Erin are absolutely overjoyed about the pregnancy,” a source told the publication at the time. “It’s a dream come true! They’ve been proudly showing photographs of the ultrasound to their closest family and friends.”

A rep for the couple has since confirmed that Darke gave birth after they were spotted out and about in New York City on Monday, April 24.

However, fans desperate to know whether they had a boy or girl and what the baby’s name is will have to wait, potentially forever. That’s because “Dan and Erin are keeping mum about names.” However, as long as the little one is safe and healthy, that’s all that matters.

Daniel Radcliffe and Erin Darke first met on the set of “Kill Your Darlings” back in 2013. According to Radcliffe, he was basically a goner from the minute they met.

“That’s a wonderful record of us flirting for the first time,” he told Playboy in 2015. “There’s no acting going on — not from my end, anyway. There’s a moment when she makes me laugh, and I’m laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.”

Radcliffe has always avoided sharing details of his private life with the press, and Darke is the same. However, even Radcliffe couldn’t resist gushing about her again in a 2019 People TV interview, in which he described Darke as “the love of my life.” He previously referred to her as his “best friend,” and their relationship has gone from strength to strength due to this deep bond.

Daniel Radcliffe isn’t the first former “Harry Potter” child star to become a dad. Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley, has a 2-year-old daughter named Wednesday with partner Georgia Groome.
