As a cat lover, you probably couldn’t fathom dating someone who didn’t love your kitty as much as you. It can be hard to find someone as passionate about felines, but if you want to pretty much guarantee it, you could sign up for the new dating app called Tabby. It exists purely to connect cat lovers and frankly, I’m intrigued.
- Tabby was created by sisters Leigh and Casey Isaacson. According to a press release, Tabby is a dating app specifically “for both cat lovers and cat owners.” That means you don’t actually have to own a cat to join. Maybe you live in an apartment that doesn’t allow pets or you simply don’t have time to care for one right now but you’re still passionate about them. Tabby could be for you!
- So what exactly can you expect from Tabby? Pretty much what you’d get from any other dating app, just with more focus on cats. “Cat-lovers will be able to meet each other, plan cat-friendly dates, get deals from cat companies, and share videos, photos, and stories all while their cats are in their element — at home,” the release added.
- There’s actually a market for this. Given that new research has shown that women are more likely to swipe left on men on dating apps who have cats, it seems clear that this is a niche that’s well worth exploring. Looking for love on Tabby pretty much guarantees that you’re going to be connected with someone who gets your feline frenzy instead of thinking it’s weird, so it’s pretty cool this exists. “People without cats think that cat ladies and cat dudes are loners wrapped up in their bathrobes playing with balls of yarn all day,” actor Nathan Kehn, who has four cats, said in the release. “Really, cat people are the most suitable for real relationships. We understand what it means to earn trust and how to relish affection.”
- Tabby will launch just in time for International Cat Day. If you don’t know when that is, it’s August 8. That means there are just a couple more weeks to go before you can connect with your kitty-loving soulmate on Tabby. It’s definitely a new dating app concept we haven’t seen before.
