Diplo has admitted that he’s gotten a blow job from a guy before but insists he’s not gay because he didn’t look the guy in the eyes. Appearing on Emily Ratajkowski‘s “High Low” podcast, the DJ didn’t deny that he might slightly be into guys, but he didn’t really think it was that big of a deal.
“I’m sure I’ve gotten a blow job from a guy before … For sure, 100%, yeah,” Diplo said. However, he clarified that he’s not “aroused by men that much.”
Ratajkowski then asked if there were any specific instances of getting oral sex from a dude that came to mind. However, Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, wasn’t all that forthcoming.
“I’ve gotten a lot of blow jobs, but I don’t know,” he responded. “I mean, getting a blow job is not that gay, I think.”
However, it’s not like Diplo is in denial, he says. It’s just that he “doesn’t want to define that [he’s] gay,” adding, “I think the best answer I have is I’m not not gay. There are a couple guys … I could date, life partner-wise.”
He went on to say that he doesn’t really think people’s sexuality is a big deal these days because “the temperature of our culture has changed.” (Tell that to the state of Tennessee, and, well, most of the South, for that matter.)
“[When I was young], you had gay kids at school and gay cousins or whatever, but it was different than it is now. I thought it was, like, weird to be gay,” he explained.
So, is Diplo gay or what? He describes himself as “more of a vibes guy … over gender.” That being said, no one should ever be forced out of the closet, and it’s also not really our right to know. If he wants to share it, of course, that’s cool. And given his willingness to talk about getting a BJ from another guy, it seems he’s really not all that shy.
