These DIY Book Nook Chairs Are The Perfect Place To Curl Up And Read

I’m someone who has way too many books, at least by my boyfriend’s standards. In my world, I can never have enough! However, with our shelves already packed and nowhere else to store them, I need something else. This DIY book nook chair not only solves the storage issue but also gives me somewhere cozy and comfy to curl up and read them!

  1. It’s basically part bookshelf, part chair. Book nook chairs are the best kind of DIY project because they solve two problems at once. Not only that, but they look way more impressive than they are difficult to make.
  2. They’re totally customizable. While Darko‘s tutorial does require that you make your DIY book nook chair out of wood, the great thing is that you can customize it however you’d like color-wise by choosing your own paint. Not only that, but you can choose whatever pattern of cushion you’d like for the chair! Basically, this is a great way to express yourself via your decor.
  3. This thing holds a LOT of books. If you follow Darko’s guide, you’ll be able to store a whopping 18 feet worth of books in total in this chair. The chair itself measures 41.5 inches wide, 34.5 inches long, and 29 inches high, making it an impressive but still not overly large size perfect for houses or even smaller apartments.
  4. So what do you need? Darko calls for some plywood boards and pine strips and that’s pretty much all. Of course, you’ll need some tools including a milter saw, a cordless drill, a kreg jig, and a few other bits in order to put it all together. Assuming you do (or that you can get a hold of them), you’re good to go. Check out the tutorial on Darko’s site here for full materials and instructions and get DIY-ing.
