A stray dog touched hearts everywhere after it interrupted a live theater performance to help an actor who was pretending to be injured. Actor Numan Ertuğrul Uzunsoy was laying on the ground during the show in Turkey and while of course the audience understood that it was all part of the storyline, the pup wasn’t so sure and didn’t want Uzunsoy to die. Aww!
- To be fair, Uzunsoy’s character was in trouble. As he explained to The Dodo, the character was “breathing hard” and “in great pain” after falling off a horse, so it only makes sense that the dog would be alarmed. As the costars backed away, the dog came forward to make sure he was doing okay.
- Uzunsoy was shocked at first to see the dog. “I felt warmth on my face. First, I thought my co-star was approaching me,” he recalled of the experience. He tried to stay in character but once the dog began licking his face and nuzzling into his neck, he couldn’t help himself and had to smile.
- He was extremely moved by the dog’s kindness and affection. “I was very happy when I felt the dog’s kisses. I was very touched. He was like an angel who wanted to help me. It was a very emotional moment for me. I was not expecting it,” he said. I can only imagine! He will have been deep into his character and the storyline and to experience something so unexpected but so loving is wonderful.
- The audience was happy to welcome the dog into the show. Despite his interrupting the performance, both Uzunsoy’s castmates and the audience were happy to incorporate him. They gave him lots of pets and not long after, the dog wandered off to be part of his next adventure.
- Hopefully that loving pup will find a permanent home soon! “The next day I went to the same place, looking for him. People told me he usually hangs out there. I went again today. I’ll look for him until I find him. I’ve always loved animals,” Uzunsoy admitted. Here’s hoping their paths cross again in the near future.
