Man In ‘Drunk Lives Matter’ T-Shirt Arrested For Drunk Driving Newville Police Department

A Pennsylvania man sporting a “Drunk Lives Matter” t-shirt was arrested by police for drunk driving. Newville police stopped 44-year-old Elwood Gutshall III for erratic driving and it was soon revealed just how inebriated he really was.

  1. Gutshall’s blood alcohol content was .217. After pulling him over early on March 19, officers gave Gutshall a field sobriety test as well as a breathalyzer, which he failed spectacularly. His blood alcohol content was found to be .217, nearly two and a half times the legal limit for drivers in Pennsylvania.
  2. His shirt really was ironic. Or perhaps not? Drunk driving cases are serious crimes, but they’re also somewhat common. What made Gutshall’s arrest so noteworthy was his “Drunk Lives Matter” t-shirt. He clearly didn’t think his life mattered enough not to get behind the wheel of a car!
  3. Gutshall is now facing serious charges. His charges include DUI Highest Rate, driving under DUI suspension, and traffic violations. Online court records showed no attorney for his preliminary hearing, scheduled for May 26.
