Earlier this year, those of us who grew up in the ’90s got some of the best news ever: Dunkaroos are back on store shelves. They’re out there now, allowing us the chance to dunk and snack with abandon and I’m pretty happy about it. However, things are about to get even better because Dunkaroos cereal is rumored to be happening and if it does, I just might get excited about breakfast.
- Admittedly, we don’t know much about it thus far. Instagrammer @CerealLife posted a photo of a family sized box of Dunkaroos cereal with a message that the product is “coming” but no further details. There’s no release date just yet and we don’t even know if General Mill has confirmed it, but I really hope this is real!
- I kind of imagine it tasting like Cookie Crisp. Because the Dunkaroos that are back on the shelf are the vanilla with vanilla sprinkles variety, I imagine that being translated into a crispy cereal would make it taste like Cookie Crisp, which I really loved as a kid. Of course, that’s all just conjecture, but it’s possible! The product photo on the box (the artwork of which is apparently still pending) even kinda makes it look like Cookie Crisp!
- Dunkaroos cereal would be a total breakfast indulgence. Obviously, most of us have moved into a phase of life that we try not to pile ourselves with sugar first thing in the morning, but I can’t lie and say I wouldn’t bust out a box of this cereal on a Saturday morning while sitting in front of the TV. I mean, who wouldn’t want to feel like a kid again?
- I guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more news on this. Whether or not Dunkaroos cereal will ever make it to our local grocery stores remains to be seen, but I have my fingers crossed and my eyes peeled for more news!
