Eminem Opens Mom’s Spaghetti Restaurant In Detroit And Serves Fans

Eminem has opened his very own Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant in his hometown of Detroit. The rapper was on location for the opening, which references an infamous line from his popular track “Lose Yourself” in which he raps: “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” Needless to say, it’s an overwhelming success, with fans lining up for hours in order to be served up a hearty serving of saucy carbs from the man himself.

  1. Eminem worked the take-out window. Fans were able to walk by to pick up their pots full of spaghetti, which cost about $9. Once at the window, the real Slim Shady signed autographs, posed for photos, and handed out some delicious pasta to pleased fans. One woman even admitted to bursting into tears when she got to meet and get a hug from Em.
  2. The meatballs will cost you extra. While $9 for a pot of spaghetti seems steep, if you wanted a meaty addition, that’s going to cost you even more. Meatballs cost an additional $3 while the vegan option is $5 extra. Hey, if it’s tasty, it’s probably worth it!
  3. Mom’s Spaghetti is a collaboration with the Union Joints restaurant group. They’ve helped Eminem previously with Mom’s Spaghetti pop-ups. However, this time it’s a permanent fixture in Detroit. “We’ve had a lot of fun putting this project together with the folks at Union Joints, and the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg in a statement. “The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring Mom’s Spaghetti spot that would be open all year long. We are really pleased to announce the arrival of the walk-up restaurant and adjacent upstairs store, called The Trailer, where fans can experience a uniquely-curated environment and obtain merch and other items from Eminem and his new pasta operation.”
  4. If you live in Detroit, try Mom’s Spaghetti ASAP. If not, take a road trip! I wish I was anywhere near there – I’d be in line immediately. After all, who doesn’t love spaghetti?
