Man Paused Date To Kill Parking Attendant, Then Came Back For Dinner

A Texas man who paid $40 to park at a Houston restaurant left his date to murder the attendant before turning to dinner. Erick Aguirre discovered once inside Rodeo Goat restaurant that he’d been scammed out of his cash. So, he did what anyone might do: He asked his date to sit tight while he went outside and shot the man to death before returning to resume the date.

Aguirre appeared in court on Thursday, April 27 to answer murder charges related to the death of 46-year-old Elliot Nix on April 11. His bond was set at $200,000.

Nix is said to have approached Aguirre and his date and told them it would cost $20 each to park their cars. Aguirre paid up, but a restaurant employee informed them once inside that Nix didn’t work for the establishment. He’d been scammed.

Erick Aguirre was seen getting his gun from his car

According to reports, Aguirre told his date “everything was fine” and that he’d just gone outside to scare the man when he came back inside after the killing. They began walking to their table to order food but left and went to another establishment as Aguirre suddenly began looking uncomfortable, court records state.

An employee who worked at a smoke shop in the neighborhood later told police that she saw Aguirre get a pistol from his car and pursue Nix. Shortly before 8 p.m., the witness heard a gunshot before seeing “nonchalantly walking back to his car with the gun in his hand” before putting the gun back in the vehicle.

It was Erick Aguirre’s date who contacted police two days later after police identified the pair thanks to tips called in to Crime Stoppers. The unnamed woman’s attorney, Rick DeToto, told KRPC: “She wanted to do the right thing. She wanted to make sure that she came forward and told the police what she knew.”
