The family of a 34-year-old mom who was abducted while out jogging has offered a $50,000 reward for any information leading to her safe return. Eliza Fletcher, who works as a kindergarten teacher, was jogging near the University of Memphis in Tennessee at around 4:20 a.m. when she was forced into a dark-colored SUV. Now, police are working frantically to find her and bring her home.

  1. Fletcher’s family hopes the money on offer will produce valuable leads. “We look forward to Eliza’s safe return and hope that this award will help police capture those who committed this crime,” they said in a statement announcing the $50,000 reward.
  2. Police have released CCTV footage of Fletcher on the morning she vanished. They describe her as 5 feet, 6 inches tall with brown hair and green eyes. She weighs around 137 pounds and was wearing purple shorts and a pink sports bra when she disappeared. Her family reported her missing at around 7:45 a.m. after she failed to return from her jog.
  3. Police immediately sprung into action. “At approximately 7:45 am, officers were dispatched to assist the University of Memphis police regarding a missing person that occurred in the area of Central and Zach Curlin,” the Memphis Police Department said in a statement. “Upon arriving on the scene, officers were advised that a female was jogging in the area at approximately 4:20 am when an unknown individual approached her. The female was reportedly forced into an SUV and taken from the scene. “The suspect was possibly in a dark-colored SUV traveling westbound on Central.” It’s said that her water bottle and smashed cell phone were also found in the area.
  4. Fletcher’s friends and family are terrified of what may have happened to her. Hart Robinson, one of Fletcher’s good friends, told WREG: “We don’t know what’s going on, but everybody is desperately looking for her and the police here are on it. You can see there is a lot of activity, so if you know anything or saw anything early this morning, we just ask that you come forward.”
