Fans Are Begging For A Second Season Of New Netflix Series That Was Only Released Last Week

One of the best things about Netflix series is that most of them are released a whole season at a time. That means greedy viewers can watch a bunch of episodes in a row without having to wait for new ones to be released. That explains why, despite only being released on November 17, fans are already calling for Netflix to renew the mystery series “1899” for a second season.

  1. “1899” is one of Netflix’s most unique series. The premise is an interesting one, even if it is slightly bizarre. It centers on a group of immigrants traveling on a steamship from London to New York. However, their journey is anything but simple, as they find a second ship floating adrift in the sea on their way and need to figure out what on earth is going on. Needless to say, viewers are loving it.
  2. Fans have been taking to social media to express their love for the series. Many are begging the streaming platform to greenlight a second series so that more questions can be answered. “I implore everyone to watch 1899 on Netflix. I’ve binged the entire show in a couple of days. Every episode subverts expectations with all of the twists and turns. I can’t stop thinking about it! Praying it gets renewed for a second season,” one person wrote on Twitter. Another simply posted: “Second season or I riot.” A third remarked: “There HAS to be a second season of ‘1899’ – this is too good not to continue!”
  3. It hasn’t all been positive feedback. While many viewers are loving the series, Brazilian comic book creator Mariana Cagnin recently accused Netflix and “1899” creators of plagiarism, claiming they stole the premise from her book, “Black Silence,” which was released back in 2016. While the similarities seem a bit of a stretch and neither Netflix nor the creators of the series have commented on it, this may not be the last we’ve heard of it.
  4. So far, no news from Netflix on whether “1899” will be renewed for Season 2. Given that the first season only dropped a week ago, we may be waiting a while for news. However, fans will be ready when it comes.
