If there’s one thing we can all use more of right now, it’s wholesome content. There’s so much bad news everywhere you look that we should latch onto anything that makes us smile (or even takes our mind off of all the tragedy for even a second). That’s certainly the case with Dadosaur, the dinosaur alter ego of TikTok user @olivemannella‘s father who has taken over the internet. How can you not love him?!
- Frankie Mannella is the hero we need. While the Dadosaur video that sparked the viral turn was posted by his daughter Olive, Frankie Mannella does indeed have his own TikTok account where his more than 220k followers can check in with Dadosaur’s adventures, among other things like family dance challenges.
- What’s the whole “Dadosaur” thing even about? Basically, Frankie is interacting with his family and everything seems totally normal until something sparks the dinosaur with him and suddenly he goes wild, stomping about and making a mess of things while being totally hilarious in the process.
- Dadosaur’s wife is a total “Karen.” That’s what the family refers to her as since she’s a bit of a killjoy and likes to be the voice of reason who discourages Frankie from going into Dadosaur mode. I’m sure she’s actually a lovely woman, of course. Chances are the whole Karen character is all part of the viral video fun.
- This is good clean fun and I am very much here for it. It seems like such a silly, ridiculous thing to do but that’s exactly what makes Dadosaur so great. It’s really dumb and quite childish but can’t we all use a bit more of that right now? With everything going on in the world right now, I’ll take any opportunity I can get for laughter, and Dadosaur really does the job. Thanks for bringing him to us, TikTok.
