Attention, Guys: Flirting Doesn’t Always Mean We’re Interested

If we flirt with you, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we want to have your babies. Sometimes, we have different intentions. They might not be moral, but here are a few other reasons why women flirt:

  1. To get out of a ticket. If a male officer comes to our window, we’re going to try to talk our way out of a ticket. If he’s persuaded by our pretty face and adorable attitude, it’s not our fault.
  2. To feel sexy. The mirror isn’t always our friend. If we’re feeling down about our looks, we’ll flirt with random men to see if we’ve still “got it.”
  3. To torture you. If an ex broke our heart, we might flirt with him to make him suffer the same way he made us suffer. It isn’t mature, but it will give us a sick sense of comfort.
  4. We’re bored. When we’re sitting on the couch, feeling lonely, we might text a few men to keep ourselves busy. Flirting is the best way to pass the time.
  5. To make our boyfriend jealous. If we want our partner to realize how many other men would kill to date us, then we might flirt with strangers in front of him. It isn’t our smartest technique, but it always gets a reaction.
  6. To get a promotion. Most women wouldn’t dream of pulling this move, but some of us do. If our boss doesn’t give us the money we deserve, we’ll use our looks to get it.
  7. To practice. None of us are born as amazing flirts. We all need practice, and the best people to practice on are the ones we aren’t attracted to or intimidated by.
  8. To test you. If you’re dating a friend of ours, we need to know that you’re going to be loyal to her. That’s why we might test the waters by flirting with you and seeing how you respond.
  9. To be nice. We don’t think we’re stringing you along by flirting with you, even though we aren’t interested. We think we’re doing you a favor by making you feel special, if only for a few minutes.
  10. It’s fun. This is why it doesn’t matter who you are or if we want anything to do with you. We’ll still flirt with you, because it’s just plain fun.
