Florida Joker Demands $2 Million From Rockstar Games For Using His Likeness In Grand Theft Auto VI

Florida man Lawrence Sullivan, also known as the Florida Joker, is demanding Rockstar Games pay up for using his likeness in Grand Theft Auto 6 without his consent.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the Florida Joker, he got famous back in 2017. He was arrested by Miami police for pointing a gun at passing cars, and his mugshot went viral given that his extreme facial tattoos made him look a whole lot like The Joker from Batman.

To be fair, GTA VI is full of Florida references.

Rockstar Games decided to fill Leonida in GTA VI with lots of characters and scenarios inspired by real-life Florida.

The first trailer for the game showed lots of incidents and criminals that have been in the news in the Sunshine State over the past several years.

However, the Florida Joker is none too pleased about his inclusion.

Sullivan took to TikTok to air his grievances with Rockstar Games.

In the GTA VI trailer, one scene features a heavily tattooed man that Sullivan says is clearly based on him. Not only is their physical appearance extremely similar, but Sullivan is from Miami, where GTA is set (albeit in a fictional version).

Sullivan says that if anyone thinks the video game character wasn’t him, they must be “out your [expletive] nuggets.”

Now, he wants payback — and we’re talking millions.

“GTA we got to talk. If not, you got to give me like a mil(lion) or two,” he says, pointing to a capture of the character frozen on a TV screen behind him.

“Florida Joker ain’t having that. Y’all took my likeness. Y’all took my life. That’s me. That’s the person they got their inspiration from. That’s me.”

No word from Rockstar on whether they plan to do anything about the complaint.
