Florida Man Arrested After Smacking Daughter In The Face With A Slice Of Pizza Indian River County Sheriff's Office

A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly used a slice of pizza as a weapon, slapping his daughter in the face with the cheesy snack. Tyler Worden, 41, is said to have assaulted his 20-year-old daughter after dropping by her home in Vero Beach. An argument ensued, and by the time police arrived at the scene, they found the victim with “what looked to be tomato sauce on the left side of her face,” according to an arrest report obtained by The Smoking Gun. In addition, the ground was said to be “covered with pizza toppings.”

  1. Worden dropped by his daughter’s house unannounced. When he turned up, she explained to her father that she wasn’t really feeling well and asked him to leave. Instead of simply respecting her wishes and heading home, he instead initiated an argument with her that ended in violence.
  2. He threw the pizza at her on the way out. According to the arrest report, it was when the victim tried to close the front door on her father that Worden became particularly enraged and threw the slice of pizza at her. The slice hit her in the face, and while it thankfully doesn’t seem to have caused any serious injury, it’s still landed Worden in hot weather.
  3. Worden admitted everything. Well, sort of. Worden told officers from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office that he did indeed throw the slice of pizza but that he believed the door was closed at the time. However, an officer noted a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath at the time of his arrest.
  4. Now, Tyler Worden is facing misdemeanor charges. He was arrested and booked into Indian River County Jail on one misdemeanor charge of battery. However, he was later released on bail on Monday, May 24 and ordered to have no contact with his daughter.
