Florida Man Wanted For Stealing Cat Blood From Local Vet Clinic

Police in Florida are searching for a man who was caught on surveillance cameras stealing cat blood from a local veterinary clinic. The incident took place at the Anastasia Cat Clinic in St. Augustine in the late hours of September 17, and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is now appealing for anyone who might have information in regard’s to the suspect’s identity and whereabouts.

  1. The entire thing was caught on camera. Video showed the man approach an Antech Diagnostics blood box at the clinic before touching and inspecting it and then leaving. Roughly 20 minutes later, the same man returned in a pickup truck and stole the box off the wall before driving away.
  2. The stolen box contained four vials of cat blood, according to reports. According to the clinic, the stolen blood cost the clinic $600 in losses.
  3. Police are now appealing for witnesses to track the man down. “On September 17, 2020, an unknown white male, pictured above, walked up to the door of Anastasia Cat Clinic on Old Dixie Hwy, St Augustine, FL. He was seen inspecting the box and touching the box before leaving,” the St. Johns Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post along with photos of the man. “Approximately twenty minutes later, a black or dark-colored truck was observed in the same parking area and a male, pictured with the same clothing but without the backpack and skateboard, approached the clinic and stole an Antech Blood box containing four vials of cat blood. … Any information regarding his identity, please contact Deputy Aponte at [email protected].”
  4. It’s unclear why anyone would do this. I’m not sure what business anyone besides a vet would have with vials of cat blood, and this is certainly one of the strangest thefts I’ve ever heard about. Nevertheless, here’s hoping the man is identified and caught soon.
