A Florida woman is under arrest after she physically assaulted her own mother, stole the older woman’s car, and then hit her with it. Amber Scheuren-Rusnak, 25, was taken into custody by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and booked on charges of aggravated battery and carjacking for the violent incident, which took place on Thursday, October 12, according to Fox 35 Orlando.

  1. A witness called 911 after seeing Scheuren-Rusnak in action. Her rampage, which happened at around noon in the town of Cocoa, took place after she and her mother got into an argument. When officers arrived, they found the suspect’s mom injured and got her medical attention.
  2. Thankfully, her mother is going to be okay. Police say that Amber Scheuren-Rusnak’s mother was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition and she’s expected to make a full recovery. However, they needed to find her daughter, who’d driven off in her mom’s car.
  3. Officers later found the car abandoned on the side of the road. It didn’t take long for a deputy and his K-9 companion to track Scheuren-Rusnak down, as she was hiding not far away. “As he started barking, the bark got more aggressive,” witness Willamena Burns told WESH 2 News. “I got up and saw officers running on the side of my house into the backyard,” she continued. “So I went on my back porch, and they were all in the backyard with this female.”
  4. It’s unclear what the suspect and her mother were arguing about at the time. However, it seems like criminal activity certainly isn’t a foreign concept to Amber Scheuren-Rusnak, who’s been arrested four times this year and 10 times since 2018 for charges including drug possession, prostitution, and domestic battery.
