Florida Woman Arrested For Crashing Wedding And Refusing To Leave

A Florida woman was arrested after she reportedly crashed a wedding in Brevard County and refused to leave. Satellite Beach responded to a call from the wedding, where 52-year-old Gloria Ines Colwell was reportedly causing a scene and getting physically violent with attendees, WFTV reports.

  1. Colwell wasn’t happy that someone called the police. Authorities say that Colwell got in the face of the person who called it in and “got verbally aggressive to the point of almost physical violence.” An officer was forced to put himself between Colwell and the other woman. He also asked Colwell to stand behind the patrol car but she refused.
  2. The groom asked her to leave before the situation escalated. Because she wasn’t invited, the groom instructed her to leave when he noticed her getting beer and food as if she was a normal wedding attendee. However, she got in his face as well and refused, even when other guests stepped in and echoed the groom’s request.
  3. Colwell resisted arrest as well. Given her out-of-control behavior, a Brevard County police officer tried to handcuff Colwell but she refused and resisted arrest. She also refused to give her name to police, though she was able to be identified.
  4. Colwell is now facing a long list of charges. Those charges include trespassing, two counts of resisting an officer without violence, and several counts of disorderly conduct.
