A Florida woman was arrested for domestic battery after she bashed a man in the head with a garden gnome wearing New Orleans Saints gear, Gulfport Police reported. Lisa Buckley, 47, “began yelling at the victim” upon returning home just after 4 p.m. on Sunday and soon got violent.
- It’s unclear what the argument was about. However, Buckley clearly came home with an ax to grind as the incident happened just after she got back to the residence. As Officer Jennifer Crowson wrote, Buckley “threw items all around the residents and then picked up a New Orleans Saints garden gnome and struck [the victim] with it.”
- Buckley disappeared after assaulting the man. According to Crowson, when she arrived at the scene, Buckley was nowhere to be found and the victim was bleeding from the side of his head and the left ear. However, he declined medical attention, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
- Buckley asked the man to drop his charges against her the following day. Police say the victim, whose relationship to Buckley was never revealed, received a text the day after the assault from Buckley requesting that he drop his case. Thankfully, that didn’t happen.
- Buckley was arrested and charged with domestic battery and harassing a victim. She was booked into Pinellas County Jail but released after posting $5,000 bail.
