A Florida woman is behind bars with a bullet wound after she was shot by trooper she tried running over. Jacquelin Blank, 37, attempted to run the Florida Highway Patrol officer over during a chase in Palm Coast and is now in police custody after being arrested the minute she was released from a local hospital.
Jacquelin Blank was initially pulled over for reckless driving.
She was said to be endangering the public while riding around in her Acura, but she drove off when stopped by two FHP officers.
The car chase went on only for a moment and came to an end when Blank was cornered at the end of a dead end road. The troopers then attempted to arrest her, which is when she accelerated her car directly at one of them.
That’s when the officer “immobilized the deadly threat,” hitting her with his gun. It’s unclear where she was shot, but the officer began treating the wound as soon as she was subdued, per CBS 12.
She’s now facing a whole host of serious charges.
Per records at the Volusia County Jail, Jacquelin Blank is facing charges for driving without a driver’s license; resisting with violence; felony criminal mischief; reckless driving damage to person or property; aggravated fleeing and eluding; and aggravated battery on a police officer – three counts.
However, that list may not be complete, as the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is considering adding more, Click Orlando reports.

The investigation is ongoing.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is doing its own investigation into what went down, and the FHP has its own investigation going concurrently.
Authorities are piecing together what exactly happened in order to ensure Jacquelin Blank is brought to justice for her various and sundry crimes.
Her next court date has not been announced, nor is it clear how she intends to plead to the charges against her.
