A Florida woman died after she was hit by a truck following an altercation with her boyfriend at the side of a highway, CBS Miami reports. The unnamed woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a broken bottle during an argument, after which she was hit by the vehicle after running in front of it.
- The couple pulled over while driving to argue. While it’s unclear what the argument was about, police did say that the 30-year-old woman and her 27-year-old boyfriend pulled over to the shoulder of Interstate 4 to continue the fight.
- The woman allegedly stabbed the man with a broken bottle. After breaking a bottle, she’s said to have struck her boyfriend with the jagged edge. It’s unclear if he was seriously injured, but no fatalities were reported other than the woman’s.
- She then stepped into the path of an oncoming truck. The vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old Dundee man, is said to have struck the woman after she ran into its path. The Florida Highway Patrol said that the driver of the vehicle sustained no injuries while the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
- It’s unclear whether the woman purposely ran into the truck’s path or it was accidental. There are no reports to suggest that she purposely put herself in harm’s way, but there’s also no evidence that she didn’t. So far, little else is known about what happened between the couple, but the ending to this situation is certainly tragic.
