Florida Woman Stopped For Drunk Driving Broke Out Dance Moves During Sobriety Tests

A Florida woman who was stopped under suspicion of drunk driving is said to have performed “multiple ballet and Irish folk dance moves” while doing her field sobriety tests, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun.

  1. Amy Ann Harrington rear-ended a car late Wednesday night. The 38-year-old was arrested for DUI after the crash near her home in Madeira Beach, roughly 10 miles from St. Petersburg.
  2. It was immediately clear she was under the influence. Police note that Harrington “showed multiple signs of impairment during roadside sobriety tests.” Not only did she reek of alcohol, but she also had “slurred speech” and “was unsteady on her feet.”
  3. Then she broke out the dance moves. When officers asked her to perform a one-leg stand and to do a walk-and-turn test, she instead started doing ballet and Irish folk dance moves. Police were not amused. Harrington then refused to take a breath test.
  4. Harrington was charged with two misdemeanors and booked into the county jail. However, she was later released on $650 bond. This wasn’t her first arrest either. She was previously charged with DUI in 2019 after a separate car crash. At the time, she copped to reckless driving and got 12 months probation and 50 hours of community service.
