Kids of the ’80s and early ’90s, as well as fans of the late Jim Henson, will no doubt be familiar with Fraggle Rock. The puppet-filled series followed the Fraggles who lived a pretty awesome life in underground caves and the Gorgs they regularly tried their hardest to avoid. If you love Fraggle Rock as much as I do, you might be pleased to know that you can stay at the actual lighthouse used in the popular series.
- It’s called St Anthony’s Lighthouse. Located in Cornwall, England, the actual accommodation is known as Sally Port Cottage, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom house located on the lighthouse’s grounds. The grounds are totally private and the views are stunning, not just of the Fraggle Rock lighthouse but of the cliffs and seaside.
- The cottage has everything you need for an incredible stay. If you’re looking for the ultimate place to relax, unwind, and get some fresh sea air into your lungs, this is the place. In addition to the beautiful natural landscape, the cottage itself has a sunny patio, WiFi, and is in close walking proximity to a beach for when the weather’s nice. There’s also a dishwasher, washer/dryer, an electric wood-burning stove, and so much more. It basically sounds like heaven on earth.
- There’s plenty to do in the area. If the fact that you’re staying at the Fraggle Rock lighthouse wasn’t enough of a draw for you, you’re also close to Cornwall’s capital of Truro, not far The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and basically right on top of loads of nature walks nearby protected by the National Trust.
- It’s incredibly affordable. While I feel like they could charge loads for the pleasure of staying at the lighthouse used in Fraggle Rock, which is a beloved show to this day, prices start as low as $43 per person based on quadruple occupancy and depending on the time of year.
