To The Guy Who Had A Girlfriend The Whole Time — You Suck

There’s nothing more unsettling than meeting a man I think is truly amazing, only to find out his heart lies elsewhere. Oh, except for when he doesn’t even tell me and you’re fooled into thinking your connection is something truly real and unique. I pictured a future with you — the chemistry between us was unreal. You made me believe that we really were meant to be, but that all came crashing down when I learned the truth. You had a girlfriend the whole time

1. What we had felt so real. When we first met, the sparks flew instantly and before I knew it, you were the highlight of my day. I looked forward to your good morning texts and loved the way that you would tell me you missed me already, five minutes after we left each other. You told me you’d never felt this way before and that you knew this was for real. Little did I know you had someone even more real waiting at home.
2. I thought you might be my forever. We talked about a future together and you even talked about me meeting your family. You brought my guard down to a place where I believed every single word from your mouth. I can’t believe the lengths you went to with your lies to make me believe that you might actually be the one I had been searching for.
3. I can’t believe you played me like that. When I look back at everything now, it makes sense, and I could kick myself for not seeing the signs as they appeared. You always kept me at a safe distance and only took me to places you knew you wouldn’t be caught. I eventually figured it out, but not before fully investing my heart into you — it was too late for me.
4. You need to focus on your relationship instead of other women. I don’t know what was going on in your relationship for you to stray, but where I come from, if the love you have is broken, you work on fixing it before you throw in the towel. You don’t lie and cheat — you either make a exit like a man or you handle your crap like a grown up and try to resolve the issues you have.
5. It’s completely unfair to cheat what you already have. You already had love in your life, and I had the right to have mine, too. You should have left me alone so that I could be open to someone who was honest and completely available for me the same way I was for you. Not only did you cheat one someone who loved you back at home, but you cheated me too when you wasted my time.
6. If you cheat on her, you’d cheat on me too. Even if you ever wanted something to work out with me, I would have never been able to trust you once I learned the whole story. If you’d cheat on someone you already cared about, you surely would have done the same to me down the road, and I’m smarter than that.
7. You really had me fooled. Even though it’s been a while and the dust has mostly settled, I still look back in shock and horror that you were able to fool me for as long as you did. I wasted years of my heart wrapped up in your fantasy — a fantasy that never had a promise of being reality.
8. I’m not sorry for telling her the truth. I know you probably hate me for telling her the truth. but I really didn’t have a choice. You kept walking in and out of my life as if it was an open door. Telling her what went down was not only her right to know, but it was also the only way I knew you wouldn’t try to knock on my door ever again. I needed to dismiss you in a permanent way so you couldn’t weasel your way into my heart.
9. I deserve better, and so does she. You might still try to deny to this day that you did anything wrong. You might place the blame on me for caring about you the way that I did, but you’re only lying to yourself. The only bad guy in the equation is you — she and I were just pawns in your selfish game. Not only do I deserve better, but so does she, and I hope you carry your shame with you forever. You don’t deserve either of us.
