While guys aren’t always great at sharing their feelings or showing that they care about you, they’re a little more receptive to receiving those gestures from their partners. It’s only natural that you want him to know how much you adore being with him and appreciate him as a person. With that in mind, here are some simple ways to show your guy you care about him and make him feel loved.
Compliment his appearance.
Yes, guys are shallow, and it doesn’t just apply to how a woman looks. Most guys worry about their own appearance and put some effort into it. Deep down, we need validation from our partners that they find us physically attractive, so make sure you remind your guy of that every now and then.
Know when he needs alone time.
For the most part, guys want to spend time with their partners, but they don’t want to feel smothered and they need plenty of alone time. If you can figure out when your guy needs a little alone time and give him some space, he’ll eventually figure out that you’re doing it on purpose and appreciate you giving him some space.
Give him little gifts.
This is simple enough, right? Any little thing that guys like can be turned into a small gift. Of course, food is always a good choice, but finding all the other little things your guy likes or would appreciate is a great way to show him how much you care about him.
Be happy to see him.
Deep down, guys just love knowing that you’re excited and happy to see them. Even if you’ve had a bad day, try to forget about it and act like your day is just beginning when you see him. It’ll put you in a better mood and make him feel good about himself at the same time.
Offer up some long hugs.
Come on, who doesn’t feel loved after receiving a nice, long hug? Even if you can’t do it every day, give your guy a nice, genuine hug as often as possible to let him know you still care. Not all physical affection has to be sexual (yes, even for guys) and a hug is more comforting than many of us would like to admit.
Give him a back rub.
Similar to a good hug, back rubs can also be a great way to show a guy that you care. I mean, wouldn’t you like him to give you a little massage every now and again? Particularly when a guy is feeling stressed, a nice back rub can be a good reminder that you love him.
Tell him you miss him.
Sure, it might be implied that you miss each other when you spend a little time apart, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t tell him or do something to show him that you feel that way. Sometimes hearing the words means everything.
Buy him a gift he’ll never get for himself.
Okay, so this is probably one of the more expensive ways of making a guy feel loved. Is there something you know the guy in your life has always wanted but has always been hesitant to buy for himself? You can blow his mind by saving up to buy it for him. He’ll know that you love him and will be forever grateful.
Cook him breakfast.
Unless it’s a special occasion, most people don’t have time to cook breakfast for one another. However, try to pick a day where you can tell your guy to relax in bed while you make his favorite morning foods. If that doesn’t work, cook him breakfast food for dinner one night. A person would have to be insane not to enjoy a home-cooked brinner.
Take his side in public.
There are few better ways to show someone your love than by supporting them, especially in public. If you’re around a group of people, make it clear that you agree with your guy and you’re proud of him. It will leave no doubt in his mind that he’s loved.
Make time for him.
It seems like the deeper you get into a relationship, the harder it is to make time for one another. If you always find a way to spend quality time with your guy, he’ll never doubt your love for him. Of course, this something that goes both ways, but don’t forget that loving someone can sometimes require sacrifice.
Give him your undivided attention.
How can I put this tactfully? Put the phone away! If a guy is trying to have a conversation with you, especially if it’s about something important, don’t be on your phone. It may not be a sign that your guy is loved, but it won’t give him a reason to doubt that fact.
Be the big spoon.
Okay, you don’t have to do this all of the time, but there are few things that make a person feel more loved and cared for than being the little spoon. Officially, most guys aren’t a big fan of spooning. However, that’s partly because we so rarely get to be the one being cuddled rather than doing the cuddling.
Bit a little jealous (sometimes).
Admittedly, jealousy in a serious relationship can be problematic. However, a little bit every now and then can be a good thing. It will show a guy that you’re worried about losing him, which is one way of making a guy feel loved.
Wear something sexy just for him.
For men, sex and love are often two sides of the same coin. One way to show a guy love is with sex. Sorry, ladies, that’s just the way it is. If you want to make things extra special, just wear something sexy that is for his eyes only. It’s a great way to make the first move and seduce him for once, which most guys secretly love.
