Gwyneth Paltrow Shares What She Eats In A Day And Spoiler Alert: It’s Barely Anything The Art of Wellness

Gwyneth Paltrow is known for being a little extreme when it comes to her approach to health and “wellness.” Her extreme diet has been discussed for more than a decade, with her 700-calorie-a-day intake sparking shock and concern. However, it seems the public has a pretty short memory because everyone is freaking out anew after Paltrow herself shared what she consumes in a typical day in an interview with Dr. Will Cole on “The Art of Being Well” podcast.

TikTokers have dubbed Paltrow an “almond mom,” aka an older woman whose entire life is based around diet culture, after the clip went viral on the app. However, it’s pretty clear the actress is taking things to a serious extreme.

On the podcast, Gwyneth Paltrow shared that she eats dinner early so that she can do a lengthy intermittent fast. In the morning, she’ll have coffee since it “won’t spike [her] blood sugar.” She doesn’t eat anything until lunch, and even then, it’s either soup or bone broth (so not really eating at all). After doing an hour of exercise, it’s almost time for dinner. That’s where the real food comes in, right? Wrong! Paltrow keeps it paleo by having ” lots of vegetables.” Then that’s it for the day!

Gwyneth Paltrow basically lives on liquid

If that doesn’t sound absolutely bonkers to you, I don’t know what will. Nutritionists and mental health experts alike have panned this approach. They’ve also poo-pooed Paltrow’s claim that her “body is not a natural detoxer” and that she has “trouble with methylation.” Girl, no.

You might assume that Paltrow’s life is really sad and boring given that she subsists pretty much on liquid. However, she insists it’s not so bad. In fact, sometimes she even gets wild and throws in a “celery juice with lemon [or] lemon water.” Please, Gwyneth! Pace yourself!

“It was hard at first when I thought, ‘Oh, I’m going to have to eliminate all the joys and all the pleasure’ and it’s not true. There’s so many ingredients that are packed with flavor — chilis and herbs and lemon,” she said in the interview. “Especially with foods like Mexican foods or with Asian flavors, I think if you ate dinner at our house, most people, when our friends come over, they have no idea that they’re eating healthy food or that it’s paleo.”

Methinks she doth protest too much.
