Haunted Ventriloquist Doll Comes To Life In Freaky Video

Just in time for Halloween, a video has surfaced online of a seemingly haunted ventriloquist doll popping open its own cabinet door and blinking its eyes when no one’s around. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m FREAKING OUT.

Scroll down to read more about Mr. Fritz and see video of the doll in action.

  1. The doll’s owner didn’t know what was going on at first. Michael Diamond, a 48-year-old man from Liverpool, was confused as to why the glass display cabinet the ventriloquist was sitting in was open when he came in every morning. To find out what was going on, he set up a GoPro camera overnight.
  2. Mr. Fritz was up to something. Mr. Fritz is the name of the ventriloquist doll, and he was made by an American POW in the 1940s. Diamond was gifted the doll earlier this year and it wasn’t long before weird stuff started happening. When he saw what was truly going on after viewing the video, he was terrified.
  3. Who wouldn’t be freaked out? “When I first watched the video back I had a weird feeling in my stomach,” Diamond said, according to The Sun. “You can see the eyes move before the door opens and again afterward. The eyes flicker and his mouth moves up and down slightly.” These days, Diamond keeps the cabinet locked and a blanket over it.
  4. Diamond isn’t scared, though. Diamond insisted that he’s “wary” of Mr. Fritz but he’s not exactly scared. That being said, he would like to find someone else to take it from him. “I want to give it a permanent home. I get emotionally attached to my collections.”
  5. “What’s the explanation is the one million dollar question isn’t it?” Diamond doesn’t know what’s going on with the doll but would love to find out. “I have no idea myself. I don’t even know where to start,” he said. “There are no open windows in the room and no airflow. The door is on a latch so shouldn’t just swing open. I have told Sally and Amber about it and they don’t like it at all.” I don’t know who Sally and Amber are, but I’m sure they’re as alarmed as we are.
  6. Then again, maybe we can’t really trust Diamond… After all, he does travel the country doing stunts with his weird collection of museum knickknacks. This includes skulls, taxidermied animals, and “spiritual props.” Knowing that, it almost feels as though the Mr. Fritz situation could just be an elaborate promotion for one of his shows. Who can say?
