He’s Not A Man If These 10 Things Scare Him Away

Women are viewed as the “weaker” sex, but we deal with blood on our periods and knives in the kitchen. Meanwhile, a few mushy words can sometimes scare men away. Of course, that’s completely ridiculous. If your boyfriend gets scared away by these little things, then he’s not ready for a mature relationship (and he certainly doesn’t deserve one with you):

  1. Feelings. “I love you” shouldn’t make him run the other way, especially if you’ve been dating for a while. He’s not a robot, which means he has just as many emotions as you do. If he’s not willing to express them, then he’s not man enough for you.
  2. Period blood. Sometimes, your sheets will get stained with blood. It happens. If he freaks out when you ruin his precious blankets when you sleep over, he needs to man up. Washing machines aren’t that hard to come by.
  3. Body hair. He has hair all over his body, so he should be used to the sight of it. If he can look at his own hairy chest, but can’t stand looking at a stray hair on your leg, he isn’t man enough for you. You shouldn’t have to shave everywhere from your armpits to your ankles every single time he wants to have sex with you.
  4. Hearing about your past. Casually mentioning your ex doesn’t mean you want to bang your ex. If he can’t stand hearing another man’s name come out of your mouth, he has some growing up to do. We all have pasts we aren’t proud of. He needs to learn to deal with yours if he wants to keep you around.
  5. Differing opinions. You aren’t going to agree with all of his BS opinions, just to make him happy. If he doesn’t like when women speak their minds, he’s living in the past. You two aren’t going to agree on everything, so why should you pretend that he’s right when he’s out of his mind?
  6. Talking about the future. Making plans for your anniversary in a few months shouldn’t send him running. If he doesn’t want to talk about where he sees you two in five years, then he doesn’t see you together at all. It’s as simple as that.
  7. Taking selfies. Men who complain about women taking too many selfies need to reevaluate their priorities. Selfies make us feel pretty. They help us make memories. They aren’t something to criticize. If he can’t handle the fact that you like to look at yourself, then he doesn’t deserve to look at you.
  8. Being called your boyfriend. Some men treat this term like it’s a curse word. Of course, if he won’t let you call him your boyfriend, then he shouldn’t be allowed to call you when he’s horny, either.
  9. Seeing you without makeup. You weren’t born with lipstick on your mouth and wings on your eyes. If he doesn’t like looking at your natural, makeup-free face, then he shouldn’t be allowed to look at your au naturel body either. Women don’t look like dolls. He should get used to it.
  10. Meeting your parents. This is a normal step in any relationship. That’s why you can’t stay with him if he refuses to meet your parents after months, or even years, of dating. Your mommy and daddy aren’t going to bite. It’s not that hard for him to sit through a dinner with them.
