Hogwarts Legacy Has A Multiplayer Mode On The Way And You Can Try It Now Warner Bros. Games

The last Harry Potter film came out more than 12 years ago. However, the popularity of the franchise hasn’t slowed down in the years since. In fact, it’s as strong as ever. Take, for instance, “Hogwarts Legacy.” The new game was released on February 10, 2023. And it’s already the most popular Harry Potter game release ever — 64% higher than the previous record for “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” which was set all the way back in 2001. Fans love having the ability to join the Wizarding World. And now that “Hogwarts Legacy” is also getting a multiplayer mode, things are about to get a whole lot better.

What is the game about?

“Hogwarts Legacy” lets you go to classes at Hogwarts, check out the likes of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, and generally be a total badass. You walk around casting spells, learning how to make potions, and becoming the best wizard you can possibly be.

As the website explains: “Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Now you can take control of the action and be at the center of your own adventure in the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it.”

While “Hogwarts Legacy” was released as a single-player game, a multiplayer mode is apparently on the horizon.

How can you play “Hogwarts Legacy” in multiplayer mode?

Together Reborn, the company that created a multiplayer mod for “Skyrim,” is said to be working on the same for “Hogwarts Legacy.”

Of course, that’s very much still a work in progress. Sadly, it isn’t something that’s likely to be publicly released soon. Also, it’s worth noting that it hasn’t been developed by Warner Bros. themselves. That means it’s not exactly official. Nevertheless, if it works, fans will be thrilled.

“Our aim is to figure out how to do the basics such as spawning characters with the player’s appearance, animations, and NPC,” mod creator Yamashi tells PC Gamer. “We are not going to create any multiplayer-specific content ourselves. We want to provide a stable framework so that people can enjoy the vanilla game and maybe extend it themselves later on.”

If you want to try multiplayer mode in “Hogwarts Legacy” now, you can. All you need to do is subscribe to Yamashi’s Patreon. Monthly subscriptions start at around $12 per month, which is a bargain! There, you can get a test build that should be fully functional in the coming months.
