How Realizing Your Worth Will Change Your Life In Unexpected & Amazing Ways

Swearing that you’ll never let a guy treat you like crap again is easier said than done. You know that you need love and respect, and yet you find yourself in one toxic relationship after another with dudes who don’t return your text messages and who won’t make you their girlfriend. Enough is enough. Realizing your worth and the fact that you deserve so much better will improve your whole life.

  1. You’ll forget the very concept of settling. If you don’t think that you deserve to find real love, of course you’ll date guys who don’t do anything for you. Sure, they might be nice or decent enough, but you won’t feel passionate about them. You’ll tell yourself that’s fine but it’s really not. Once you know what you’re worth, you’ll forget all about settling and you’ll hold out for someone who makes you feel something.
  2. You’ll stop wasting your time on bad dates. You’re so much better than first dates with boring small talk and no chemistry. You don’t need to carry the entire conversation and you don’t need to see someone who refuses to ask you any questions about yourself ever again. It’ll be life-changing when you realize that you’re too good for crappy dates and that you don’t need a second date with someone unless you really, really like him. Just think about all the time you’ll have to see your friends and family and do things that you actually love, even if that just means cherishing your nights in with Netflix.
  3. You’ll never feel guilty for peacing out early. It would be awesome if you never had to leave a date early. Unfortunately, that’s just not the case. Of course, it’s not as simple as telling yourself that it’s cool to go home after 15 minutes if you’re having a horrible time and the guy is a total jerk. You still feel guilty and like you should be nice and polite and stay. Once you change your POV, you’ll feel empowered to peace out early and stop feeling anything but proud of yourself for listening to your gut instincts.
  4. You’ll do the opposite of everything that you used to do. Do you always wait for guys to ask you out? Do you follow all the so-called texting rules like not double texting or initiating contact? Do you refuse to tell someone how you feel until you’re sure that they feel the same way? Once you realize your worth, you’ll approach your dating life the opposite of how you used to and it’ll make a huge difference.
  5. You’ll rise above every dating trend. Just because everyone is supposedly hooking up instead of committing and using apps instead of meeting in person doesn’t mean that you have to follow that. Dating trends may be normal but they don’t have to tell the story of your love life. If you want a guy to commit to you and know that’s what you deserve, you’ll stop at nothing until you find someone who treats you properly.
  6. You’ll actually be able to move on from your romantic past. You probably know that your ex-boyfriends are the worst and that you should never daydream about getting back together with them. Even still, sometimes a girl just can’t help but wonder, “What if?” When you truly start to believe that you deserve the very best, you’ll also realize that there’s no point going down memory lane. Those relationships ended for a reason and it’s time to move on and only look forward.
  7. You won’t stress out about dating as much anymore. From online dates to who should text first to whether any guy even wants a girlfriend in these confusing and complicated times, there’s always a lot to worry about. With your new outlook, the days of stressing out about your dating life will be long gone. You’ll honestly chill out and know that you’ll find your person when you’re meant to.
  8. You’ll feel grateful for your terrible and weird experiences. It sounds too good to be true and yet it really will happen. Realizing that you deserve more out of your love life will change your mindset so much that you start to see your worst dates and most painful break-ups as learning experiences.
  9. You’ll attract the exact kind of person that you’ve been waiting for. When you’re single AF, you have your dream guy in mind. Sure, you might tell yourself that you’re being too picky and that you’ll never actually meet him and your BFFs might say the same thing. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be with someone who’s kind and funny and smart (and who shares your pop culture addiction if that’s something that matters to you).
  10. You’ll get exactly what you want from your love life. On that note, when you discover your self-worth and meet the right guy, you’ll have the relationship of your dreams. No, it won’t be a fluke and you won’t get lucky (even though you’ll definitely feel lucky). You’ll stand for nothing less than a real partner who shares your life and truly cares about you. You’ll wonder why it took so long to meet your person but you’ll know that it was worth it, and that’ll mean everything.
