While it might sound immature, you have to admit that being pursued by a man can be really fun. Playing hard-to-get, as difficult as it can be when you really like someone, has a lot of benefits. I’m not about playing games and leading someone on when you have no intention of having anything real with them. However, if you’ve caught feelings and just want to make things more interesting before you’re officially together, here are few ways to make him chase you.
- Maintain your mystery. Men love a little mystery and when you keep a part of yourself secretive or hidden, it’s a surefire way to keep him hungry for more. Don’t give him every detail about your life and your personality upfront. Give him just a small taste of who you are and what you’re about and it’ll ensure that he keeps coming around to find out more.
- Be confident. Confidence is one of the sexiest qualities you can possess so make sure that you’re feeling yourself all the time and that the guy you have your eye on knows it. If you want a man to chase you, it’s important that you don’t get bogged down by little insecurities and tiny flaws. Chances are, you’re the only who notices them and if you completely ignore them and just feel good in your own skin, you’ll radiate the self-assurance and he’ll keep running back to you.
- Make it clear what you want and don’t. Assertiveness can be sexy and alluring, so don’t be shy about what you’re looking for in a relationship and what you’re not interested in as well. You might think that being straight forward is the opposite of mysterious, but you’d be surprised how being secure and sure of what you want romantically can be a huge reason that a guy pursues you.
- Focus on your own stuff. Comparison is the thief of joy and constantly comparing yourself to other women, especially women that the guy you’re into may have been involved with is one the quickest and easiest ways to turn them completely off. Who cares what other women around you look like or have accomplished? Who cares about the other women that he’s pursued in the past? He’s interested in you now and that is the only thing that matters. If he’s interested in you, it means that he likes you for you. Focus on yourself and this man won’t be able to resist the chase.
- Keep a full schedule. You want him to know that you’re a hot commodity and your time is precious. You don’t have hours on end every day to sit around waiting for him to call you or text. You certainly don’t have all the time in the world to think about him. You’ve got your own life and your own calendar. If he wants you to fit him in, he needs to reach out and make the time. Make sure it’s understood that he needs to work around you. You aren’t just available when he decides he wants to see you.
- Make him work for it. Going right alongside keeping your schedule packed, a key point in making a man chase you is making him work for the opportunity to be with you. Men love a challenge just as much as they love a chase and when they have to work to gain your attention and affection it not only makes them hungry for more, it also lets them know that you’re not just some run-of-the-mill girl that they could find anywhere. You’re special. You’re one-of-a-kind and you deserve to be treated as such.
- Leave the ball in his court. This step is sometimes very difficult but super important when ensuring that he keeps chasing after you. Leave the cards on the table and just walk away. Once you’ve flirted enough to make it obvious that you like him and would be into taking things to the next level, let him decide how to make his first move. Don’t lead the horse to water, let him take the steps to you. It’s all about how you play it. If you play it right, he will be sprinting his way to you.
- Let him know you like him to a point. Like I said, you need to make it somewhat clear that you’re interested in him by doing things like flirting and responding positively (as long as it feels good and genuine to you) to his attempts at pursuing you while still remaining aloof and independent. It lets him know that the chase is still on but reassures him that his attempts aren’t in vain. Plus it’s a lot of fun.
- Don’t show desperation. Desperation is so beneath you and it’s definitely not a way to keep a guy chasing after you. You might really like him and you might really want him to ask you out or to take that next step in making things official but if you want the chase to last a little longer, you can’t let him know that he’s won. Keep him guessing by throwing him a curveball every once in a while and keeping the mystery lingering.
- Ditch the drama and just live. Another thing that can be a serious turn off could be if you tend to be a fan of unnecessary drama. Don’t let yourself get caught up in pettiness that doesn’t even matter in the grand scheme of things. Letting things like gossip, rumors, and silly immaturity consume you not only creates negativity in your life that so doesn’t need to be there, but it also says to the world that you’re someone who can’t find anything more interesting to talk about than other people. You’re better than that. Just live your life, focus on you, spread positivity and good vibes and the guy that you’re into won’t stop chasing you until he reaches the finish line.
