Husband And Wife Born 4 Days Apart Celebrate Their 100th Birthdays

To find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with is a wonderful thing. To be able to reach the age of 100 with them is a blessing beyond imagination! That’s exactly the milestone Savannah, Georgia residents Billy and Nellie Jones recently reached. The couple, who were born only four days apart, became centenarians together in what looked to be a joyous celebration.

1. Billy and Nellie Jones have been married for 80 years. They first met all the way back in high school and it didn’t take long for them to fall in love. Billie fondly recalled the moment he knew he was a goner. “She was practicing for a play at Savannah High School on Washington Avenue,” he told WTOC. “A friend of mine waved at her and spoke to her. I said, ‘who is that?’ He said, ‘That’s Nellie. She’s in my class, would you like to meet her?’ He turned the car around, took me back, and introduced me to Nellie.” Aww!
2. They’ve created an incredible life together. Over the past 85+ years, they’ve done so much together, experiencing the highs and lows of life and sticking together through it all. They’ve also made a beautiful family and have three sons, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
3. They celebrated their 100th birthdays in style. Turning 100 is a pretty big deal, and Billy and Nellie Jones’ family knew they needed to have a party. Of course, it had to be a socially distanced one to ensure the health of the couple and their guests, but they made it work! With Billy’s birthday being August 7 and Nellie’s on August 11, their loved ones made their day super special.
4. They even got their own parade! While sitting in lawn chairs in the front yard of the house where they’ve lived for 60 years, Billy and Nellie got to enjoy a parade of cars, bikes, and golf carts going by. Nellie wore a special birthday sash while Billy advertised his milestone birthday on his hat. The couple waved and smile and got to spend valuable time with family members. What an amazing day!
