Not everyone is prepared to come right out and say when they’re desperately attracted to someone, but there’s usually a build-up of certain behaviors over time that indicate their attraction. Here are a few signs that guy you’re into might be showing that betray how much he wants you.
- He can’t keep his eyes off you. Do you find yourself catching his gaze all the time even when you aren’t communicating in any other way? This is a telltale sign that he really wants you. And if he actually holds your gaze, he’s doing more than just admiring your beauty. Studies have shown that eye contact enhances arousal. Without speaking, he is subconsciously trying to spark your desire too.
- He avoids eye contact. Sometimes his fear of rejection causes him to appear uncomfortable rather than confident. He may not be ready to tell you how he feels yet, but his body language speaks volumes. Even though you can feel him looking at you when your back is turned, he quickly glances away the minute your eyes meet. This is a sign that he can hardly look at you for fear of how clearly his desire will show in his eyes.
- He only talks to you in banter. He deflects his nervousness by making everything a witty joke. By making you laugh, he can show off his charming side while also avoiding any awkward silences that could betray how much he likes you. Witty banter also leaves room for sexual innuendos that allows the two of you to gauge your level of mutual interest.
- He finds reasons to be in the same room with you. Even when there is no reason he needs to see you in person, he finds one. It seems like you keep bumping into each other, whether or not he acknowledges your presence. For him, just being around you is enough to get his fix. He may not have made his feelings clear yet, but he can’t seem to stay away from you.
- He’s interested in everything you say. When a guy is really into you, he is captivated. Not only is he mesmerized by how you look, but he’s also lost in what you care about and how you express it. Whatever you have to say, no matter how trivial, he wants to hear it. He hangs on your every word because he wants to get to know the real you. You’ll know this guy wants you if he remembers everything you say and brings it up again in conversation.
- He takes his appearance up a notch. Have you noticed that he smells nicer lately or that his clothes are more stylish than usual and suspiciously devoid of creases? Or maybe he’s grooming his facial hair with more precision. While you may not want to jump to conclusions by assuming it’s all about you, people don’t suddenly revamp their appearances out of nowhere. It’s entirely possible that, taken in the context of a few other signs, you can conclude that he’s making an effort to be as attractive to you as possible.
- He likes all of your photos on social media. Every time you post a photo, he hits the like button. This isn’t the sexiest form of flirting, but it’s evidence that’s he’s interested, and he wants you to know it, though indirectly. If he DMs you whenever you post a selfie, it’s even more blatant. Even if it’s subconscious, he is reminded of how into you he is whenever he sees a photo of you.
- He texts you more than necessary. He never lets a text conversation end. Whenever there’s a lull in your messaging, he initiates another topic. He avoids asking yes or no questions so that you’ll have more back and forth. He just wants to keep the communication going, no matter how trivial the subject matter. If this is happening, he’s probably at war with himself about whether or not to tell you how obsessed with you he is.
- He’s always doing you favors. Whenever you need or want anything, he’s there to provide it. Whether it’s a coffee or a pep talk, he is the first to volunteer, even when you haven’t asked. He wants to show you how much he cares about you in the hopes that you’ll realize what a perfect boyfriend he’d make. And maybe, by going above and beyond what is expected to prioritize your needs, he’s trying to signal how he’d treat you in the bedroom, too.
- The room feels electric whenever you’re in the same space. Ah, sexual tension, the stuff of every good rom-com. But it exists in the real world too, and it can be pretty intoxicating. You can’t always identify specific behaviors that might indicate a guy is into you. Sometimes you can just feel it. If you feel like the room is charged with electrical energy whenever the two of you are together, your romantic chemistry is likely off the charts and he’s just waiting for you to realize it.
