Just when you thought Jason Momoa couldn’t get any more perfect, he’s gone and surprised and his wife Lisa Bonet with a restored 1964 Mustang for her birthday. The car was Bonet’s very first, and from the look on her face when she sees it, it might go down as one of the best gifts ever given.
- Bonet’s old Mustang was a rare one. Momoa worked with Divine 1 Customs in Las Vegas to restore the vehicle, which wasn’t as easy as it sounded, especially since the car was one of only three ever made and had tons of custom parts. They get there in the end, though, because it looks incredible when they’re finished!
- Jason Momoa is a total cheeseball. “It’s the first car, bought with love and a smile; the car that gave you a life of incredible destinations, where boundaries and limitations fade in the rear view,” he says in the YouTube video of the restoration. “I know we can’t relive a memory, but maybe we can rebuild one.” Corny? Yup, but Lisa Bonet is still one very lucky woman.
- Even Momoa is pleased with the result. The Mustang gets a nice fresh paint job at the end and when done, it looks pretty incredible. “”I never thought it would look like this,” he says with a smile. “To be in this passenger seat with my wife here and surprise her, and our babies in the back, riding in her first car when she was 17 – I’m excited to see her face.”
- Lisa Bonet is one happy lady. When she’s presented with the car, she’s speechless. “It’s beautiful. Holy cow. That is gorgeous. Oh my gosh,” she says before climbing in. The couple’s two children, Nakoa-Wolf, 11, and Lola, 13, are also on hand to see the hand-over, along with the guys who helped restore it. All in all, it’s a very successful project!
