Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her experience with IVF and infertility in a new interview with Allure. The “Friends” star, 53, revealed that she struggled to cope with the media speculation about whether or not she would become a mother as she struggled to conceive in her private life.
Aniston was hounded about motherhood since the 1990s. Headlines cropped up nearly a daily basis that questioned whether or not she was pregnant or would ever have children. Many outlets even claimed that her marriage to Brad Pitt ended because she was too career-obsessed for children.
The actress has always refused to comment publicly on her private journey, and rightfully so. However, she took the opportunity to discuss what she went through in the December 2022 issue of Allure.
“All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard,” she admitted.

Jennifer Aniston went on to say that she underwent years of IVF and other fertility treatments in an attempt to get pregnant, but nothing worked.
“I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it,” she said. “I wouldāve given anything if someone had said to me, āFreeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.ā You just donāt think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”
Aniston went on to say that she’s tired of being quiet about her IVF experience and may eventually write a book about it.
“Iām going to do that one day,ā she told the publication. āIām going to stop saying, ‘I canāt write.’ Iāve spent so many years protecting my story about IVF,” she said. “The world creates narratives that arenāt true, so I might as well tell the truth.”
Fans and others who have dealt with fertility issues would no doubt love to read her story.
