I’m not someone who eats breakfast very often, but every once in a while I want a little bit of a treat in the morning in the form of a breakfast sandwich. I’m a big fan of the Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants, but what about when you want that classic taste but you also want something smaller and less bready? Jimmy Dean’s new Breakfast Nuggets are crammed full of sausage, egg, and cheese, just in nugget form, because why not?

- It sounds crazy but it’s kind of genius. When we think of nuggets, we don’t generally think of breakfast. It’s usually in chicken form and something we’d have for lunch and dinner. Stuffing breakfast fillings in a nugget is kinda wild but is exactly the kind of delicious innovation we all kinda expect from Jimmy Dean at this point. I’m here for it!
- There are two flavors to choose from. Jimmy Dean’s Breakfast Nuggets come in Sausage, Egg, and Cheese flavor as well as Chicken Sausage, Egg, and Cheese if you don’t eat pork or prefer something a little lighter. Both are encased in a breaded coating, ready to be popped in the oven or presumably the microwave.
- These aren’t the only new offerings the brand is bringing out. Not everyone will want Breakfast Nuggets (though goodness knows why), so Jimmy Dean also has two new Skillets in Sausage and Meat Lovers varieties. Both of them incorporate potatoes, meat, veggies, and cheese. Not only that, but there’s also a Jimmy Dean Delights Skillet in an All-Natural Turkey flavor complete with kale, sweet potato, turkey sausage, onion, and a three-cheese blend. You can mix any of the above with six eggs for a complete (and super tasty) breakfast option and I highly recommend it.
- There’s even a vegetarian option. More and more of us are going veggie or at least trying to be more mindful of how much meat we eat, so the Jimmy Dean Delights Plant-Based Patty & Frittata Sandwich will be a welcome addition to their repertoire. I’ll definitely try it!
- It’s all about having options. “We know it’s important to people to have a variety of breakfast options in order to keep mornings delicious and fun,” said Scott Glenn, Jimmy Dean brand’s senior director of marketing, in a press release. “We believe breakfast helps people have a great start to their day, whether on-the-go with our bite-sized Breakfast Nuggets, or around a kitchen table enjoying the comforting flavors of a Skillet.” Couldn’t agree more!
