Johnny Depp Texted About Amber Heard’s ‘Rotting Corpse’ And Accused Her Of ‘Ruining Their Lives’

Johnny Depp seemingly texted a friend to reference ex-wife Amber Heard’s “rotting corpse” during a tumultuous time in their relationship, a courtroom heard. The evidence was shared as part of an ongoing defamation trial Depp launched over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed Heard wrote about being a domestic violence survivor.

  1. The text messages were sent in October 2016. They were sent by Depp to Isaac Baruch, with one message claiming that Depp hoped Amber’s “rotting corpse is decomposing in the f*****g trunk of a Honda Civic.”
  2. That wasn’t all Depp said about Heard. Another message sent to Baruch stated: “That c*** ruined such a f*****g cool life we had for a while.” Baruch confirmed when asked by Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, that he had received the messages from Depp and that they were indeed real.
  3. Baruch was put out by the way Heard’s domestic violence allegations had affected him. As the jury heard, Baruch has been financially supported by Depp for years, with the actor giving him a free place to live and spending money to cover his expenses. “It’s not fair. It’s not right what she did and what happened for so many people to get affected from this,” Baruch lamented while on the stand.
  4. However, Baruch couldn’t definitively say that Depp wasn’t guilty of domestic violence. When asked by Heard’s lawyer whether he could be absolutely certain that Heard’s allegations were untrue, Baruch could only respond: “I never saw or witnessed whatever type of claim that is being said. Ever.”

The trial continues and is expected to last for six weeks.
