Killing Eve Is Officially Ending After Season 4, But Spinoffs Are Definitely Happening BBC America

Killing Eve is without a doubt one of the best things to air on TV in the past decade. That’s why the news that Season 4 will be the last is so heartbreaking. There are so many questions left to answer after Season 3, from whether or not Villanelle and Eve are going to get closer (yes please) or walk away from one another forever (doubtful!) to whether or not The Twelve can be disbanded/brought to justice (and so many more). Thankfully, even if we’re left with even more strings untied at the end of the series, more than one spinoff is said to be in development.

  1. The news that Season 4 is the last wasn’t exactly surprising. Killing Eve fans have been expecting this for a while now, and BBC America finally confirmed the news this week, as per Variety. However, the news that a few spinoffs are in development with AMC Networks and Sid Gentle Films Ltd. comes as a welcome addition!
  2. Killing Eve Season 4 hasn’t even started filming yet. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, production on the final season, which should have been done by now, hasn’t even gotten started. That’s because the show is pretty heavily based on traveling around the world and without being able to shoot on location, they couldn’t shoot at all. Production on Season 4 is now scheduled to start in early summer.
  3. It’s the end of an era! Spinoffs are never quite as good as the original, so even if there are other shows set in the same universe, any future shows just won’t be Killing Eve. The magic between Villanelle and Eve and even the actors, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh, will be gone and hard to replicate, so I’m skeptical but still hopeful!
  4. Both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are sad to see the show go too. They love it just as much as we do! Sandra Oh said in a statement: “Killing Eve has been one of my greatest experiences and I look forward to diving back into Eve’s remarkable mind soon. I’m so grateful for all cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable fourth and final season.” Jodie Comer added: “Thank you to all the fans who’ve supported us throughout and come along for the ride. Although all good things come to an end, it’s not over yet. We aim to make this one to remember!” Ugh, I can’t wait!
