Kim Kardashian is being trolled online after giving a speech at Harvard Business School. The reality star turned social media and busines mogul was invited to give a lecture at the Ivy League college to discuss her experience running her lingerie brand Skims. However, not everyone was impressed.
“I spoke At Harvard Business School yesterday for a class called HBS Moving Beyond DTC,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “The class’s assignment was to learn about Skims, so my partner Jens and I spoke about our marketing, our challenges and our greatest wins. I’m so proud of Skims and the thought that it is a course being studied at Harvard is just crazy.”
Kim Kardashian went on to say that she considered the day a success and that going to Harvard — even though she wasn’t studying there — was a bucket list item for her.
While she seemed pleased with herself, people on social media weren’t so kind about it. Many believe Kardashian has no business speaking as a business expert when she simply adds her name to products to be sold on by other people. Others blasted Kardashian for not actually being interested in doing the work to get a college degree.
Not everyone was pleased with Kim Kardashian’s visit to Harvard
“Getting a college degree should’ve been on your bucket list,” one person wrote. Another added: “If you have money, you can do anything.”
Some blasted Harvard for even inviting Kardashian, with one person writing, “Harvard should be ashamed of themselves.” A second person commented, “And just like that, Harvard’s prestige has evaporated into thin air in my mind.”
There were some fans who thought Kim Kardashian deserves a break and that she had every business (no pun intended) speaking at Harvard. “I love how people are being rude and acting like she doesn’t deserve this. She is an extremely successful business woman and she’s awesome at marketing and branding. We all can see your green goblin of jealousy, Karen,” one supporter said.
If you want Kardashian’s best business advice, you only need to look back to her March 2022 interview with Variety, in which she claimed that the reason her family is so hideous rich and we’re all disgusting poors is that we just don’t want it enough. “Get your f***ing ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days,” she claimed.
