Kraft Macaroni & Cheese is absolutely a classic. If you grew up during the late ’80s and early ’90s — or hell, even now, since I’m pretty sure it’s just as popular as it ever was — chances are you’re already pretty familiar with that fluorescent orange powder and that deliciously cheesy taste. Even as an adult now with what I’d like to think is a more evolved palate, I still love the stuff. While I’m not so sure if I can get down with Kraft Mac & Cheese-flavored ice cream, I’m at least intrigued at its existence!

- The unconventional combo is a collab between Kraft an Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. If you’re not familiar with Van Leeuwen, they’re a Brooklyn-based ice cream maker that comes up with incredible (and incredibly delicious) flavors. It’s only natural that they’d want to take on the nearly impossible task of turning mac and cheese into ice cream, I guess!
- Macaroni & Cheese Ice cream might just be an unexpected hit. Starting July 14, you can brab the concoction, which is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, and dyes, making it slightly healthier if not more appealing. While it probably won’t taste like straight-up pasta and cheese, it might be a more palatable homage and it’s certainly worth trying either way!
- It’s available online if you don’t live near a store. All Van Leeuwen stores in New York, Los Angeles, and Houston will have the Kraft Mac & Cheese flavor on hand in their shops if you’d like to stop in for a scoop. Otherwise, you can grab a pint for $12 on their shop at vanleeuwenicecream.com.
- It’s only around for a limited time. As you can imagine, this flavor isn’t going to be a long-term menu fixture, so if you want to try it, even if it’s just to say you did, you’ll have to be quick!
