Kylie Jenner Says Being Picked On By ‘Millions’ As A Child Gave Her ‘Toughest Skin On The Planet’

Kylie Jenner has admitted that being picked on by millions of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” viewers when she was only a child had a profound effect on her. The reality star said that people making fun of her for being too thin and having thin lips eventually gave her the “thickest skin on the planet.”

  1. She worries that she showed “too” much of herself with the world at a young age. That all changed when she got a bit older and started having her own kids. As she told good friend Hailey Bieber on her Who’s In My Bathroom?! YouTube series: “I think that when I showed my personality too much or shared a little bit too much, people just had more access to say things about the real me. So, I decided to push back a little bit – definitely when I got pregnant and, you know, started having kids.”
  2. She no longer has the bandwidth to make social media a central focus in life. While she understands that it’s a huge part of her brand and keeps fans connected, she “just can’t do it anymore.” She added that it used to be fine to spend hours a day on Instagram and the like, but now her “priorities are just in a different place.” She added: I really have real life s**t to do now.”
  3. Still, it was really hard to grow up in the spotlight. With so many people saying such negative things about her, being picked on really took its toll on Kylie Jenner. However, it also made her stronger than ever. “I think that I have probably the toughest skin on the planet ’cause millions of people have said things about me, decided who I am… it’s hard to just swallow that,” she told Bieber. “My friends and my family know who I am so that’s really all that matters.”
  4. It seems like Kylie got the last laugh. Lest we forget, she’s now the most popular member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan and is one of the most followed women on Instagram, with 372 million followers. She also has a success cosmetics business and at only 25, she’s already a billionaire.
