Monopoly is one of the best board games ever, if not THE best. It’s a classic full of fun gameplay that requires strategy and serious patience, especially considering a single game can take hours. Just when you thought Monopoly couldn’t get more awesome, Hasbro has gone and released Lion King Monopoly and it’s ridiculously cool.
- The playing pieces are Lion King characters! If you’re playing Lion King Monopoly, you need Lion King characters as the playing pieces, right? Thankfully, Hasbro delivers here and you get Mufasa, Scar, Timon, Pumba, Simba, and Nala to choose from. Frankly, they should have come with Zazu and Rafiki pieces as well, but I guess nothing is perfect.
- There’s even a Pride Rock replica. The Pride Rock statue holds the destiny cards and even plays music at the touch of a button. The destiny cards replace the chance and community chest cards from the original game, which is a great idea. It requires 2 AAA batteries to activate, but luckily those are included in the box and should last a long time, so you won’t need to replace them anytime soon.
- The locations are memorable ones from the Disney movie. If you land on one of the location spots and have the money, you can pick up memorable Lion King movie locations and scenes such as the Tree of Life, the Wildebeest stampede, and more.
- If you love The Lion King, you’ll want to add this to your collection. Many of the official Amazon reviews are from people who bought Lion King Monopoly because they love the Disney movie and they didn’t regret their purchase. Whether this is something you buy for you or for the little ones in your life, it’s definitely a necessary addition to your board game collection if you consider yourself a Lion King fan. I know what my next purchase will be!
