Loud Fart Gives Away Wanted Man’s Hiding Spot In Bushes To Police

British police successfully arrested a man wanted over two separate incidents near Harworth, Northamptonshire after a particularly loud fart gave away his hiding spot in some bushes. It’s a story you really couldn’t make up and it’s perhaps the most hilarious case of justice being served you’ll ever hear.

  1. He tried to hide in a wooded area. The unidentified suspect, who’d been on the run from police, was trying to conceal his identity in some bushes close to a wooded area, BBC News reports. He seemed to be doing an okay job of it, but then he broke wind so loudly that police were led straight to him. Not very slick.
  2. Obviously, he was arrested immediately. Once he was pulled out of the bushes (and hopefully aired out a bit from the stench), the suspect was taken to Mansfield Custody. PC Fenton, who was involved in the arrest, said in a statement, “I was almost out of wind running but luckily the suspect still had some. I heard him letting rip and followed the noises to a bush.”
  3. His accomplice was also arrested. After the police took the farting man into custody, they cuffed and booked another man nearby who was hiding behind a fireplace in a property. It’s unknown exactly what their alleged crimes were, but if they’re criminals, it’s good that they’ve been arrested.
  4. Could he really not hold it in? I know that everyone farts and it’s totally natural, but he honestly couldn’t hang onto it a bit longer until the police moved on? Something tells me this guy wanted to get caught and this was all one big joke to him.
  5. This isn’t the first time a fart has given away a suspect to police. Lest we forget, it was only July 2019 when officers in Missouri found a wanted man via a loud fart. Well done, boys.
