‘Mamma Mia 2’ Is Coming To Netflix Next Month, So Get Ready To Sing Along

Life is totally nuts right now and one of the best ways to stay sane is to watch light-hearted, entertaining TV shows and movies that keep your mind off of everything that’s happening in the world right now and instead allows you to let go and have a little fun. Lucky for you (and for all of us!), Mamma Mia 2 is coming to Netflix next month and the timing couldn’t be better!

  1. Who doesn’t love a bit of karaoke? While you can’t actually hook up your karaoke machine (I’m not the only one who has one of those, right?), you can sing at the top of your lungs while watching Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again on Netflix. Who cares if you have roommates/neighbors/don’t live alone? Don’t let that stop you!
  2. Admittedly, it’s not as good as the first movie… Mamma Mia 2 takes place two years after the first movie and is Meryl Streep-less since her character Donna, the mom of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) has died in the interim. Boo! The upside here is that the music is still solid and that Cher’s in the movie, though not nearly enough. It’s a solid watch that will definitely keep you entertained and that’s what we’re looking for right now. Thanks, Netflix!
  3. Mamma Mia 2 is only coming to Netflix UK and Ireland right now. Sadly, the movie isn’t available on Netflix in the US right now, but if you’re in the UK or Ireland (or you have access to a VPN), you’re in luck. The movie hits the streaming platform from June 26 and I’ve literally already typed it into my iPhone calendar. It’s serious business!
  4. In the meantime, why not rewatch the original? If you already own or simply want to rent the first Mamma Mia to refresh your memory, this is the perfect time to do so. While you don’t necessarily need to be super up on the events of the first movie to appreciate the second, it’s definitely helpful and will give you even more of a chance to sing at the top of your lungs. Oh, plus you get to enjoy Meryl Streep, which is always a good thing.
